INCLEMENT WEATHER PREPAREDNESS – PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE
Sheriff Richard K. Jones wants to assure the Butler County community that the Butler County Sheriff’s Office has fully activated its inclement weather protocols ahead of this evening’s forecasted storm.
Beginning at 9:00 p.m., the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be operational to coordinate resources and monitor conditions as the weather develops. All weather-related calls will be routed directly to our Emergency Response Services (ERS) team, which will be on standby and prepared to respond to any hazards that may arise, including heavy snow, ice, or dangerous roadway conditions.
To ensure uninterrupted public safety services, our Communication Center will have additional dispatchers on duty should call volume increase. Furthermore, the Road Patrol Division will be augmented with additional deputies to respond promptly to traffic crashes, roadway hazards, and regular calls for service.
Sheriff Jones emphasizes the agency’s commitment to readiness and community protection, stating:
“Our Sheriff’s personnel do not sit around waiting for something to happen. We prepare, we plan, and we are out in the elements—rain, snow, or shine—ensuring the safety of our community. When severe weather hits, we will be there.”
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to monitor weather updates, avoid unnecessary travel when possible.
For emergencies, dial 911. For non-emergencies, contact 513-785-1300.
